Liturgical Look Book: July
Recipes, outfit inspo, and other fun little things that have been bringing be joy recently!
Happy Friday, friends and Happy Fourth of July!
I’d like to take a moment for us to pray for our country, our leaders, and for the brave men and women who serve our country, and especially for repose of souls lost in the service of our nation: Dear Lord, we come humbly before you and lift up these intentions and place them in your tender and loving hands. These worries, our leaders, and our county we entrust to you. We thank you in advance for the blessings you have brought to us, and trust that you have a plan for every life, death, and leader in this world. Amen.
(can you believe it’s July already?!)
I hope Ordinary Time has been treating you gently; offering space to breathe, reflect, and find beauty in the everyday. As the liturgical rhythm slows a bit, I find it’s the perfect moment to get creative with pieces that feel both grounded and graceful, things that remind me good things are coming. This month’s look book leans into that spirit.
I’ve added a little diagram below so that you can track where we are in the liturgical year!
At the beginning of this new month, I invite you to take a moment to be grateful for all the joys that June brought you, and place all the worries of June in the hands of our dear Father in heaven. This is a new month, a new reason for hope in the Lord, and a new reason to sing His praise!
Look Book Inspiration for this Summer
Lately, I’ve found myself gravitating toward rich browns and soft, girly blues; colors that feel like quiet confidence. In the heat of summer (and in a male-dominated field) embracing my femininity has become, in a small way, an act of rebellion. Not loud or defiant, but intentional.
Yet even as I enjoy these gentle expressions of God-given beauty, I’m reminded of something deeper. Inspired by St. Teresa of Ávila, I hold close the truth that holiness is the soul’s most beautiful dress. What we wear on the outside may reflect who we feel like we are, but who we are before God is the most radiant thing of all!
When the heat really kicks in, I love wearing long, flowy dresses: they're breezy, comfortable, and can often pass as business casual for work! Around here, when it's this hot, people tend to be a bit more forgiving with dress codes.
Christ-Centered Creatives Corner
Just a little shop update for you, friends! I've added a few new pieces I'm really excited about: sympathy cards, thank you notes, and a printable liturgy for personal devotion. I do my best to keep prices as low as I can because it truly brings me joy to share these musings and creations with you.
My hope is that these pieces offer you comfort in seasons of sorrow and add a touch of beauty to your moments of celebration. And don’t forget; as a subscriber, you always receive 20% off as a small thank-you for being here.
p.s. if you or someone you know is a Christ-centered creative who would love to share their own musings and creations, just reach out. I’d be honored to feature them here in the Creative Corner!
A little one pot meal to add to your rotation
(*save this for later*) This cozy one-pot ham and bean stew is my simple, soul-soothing take on my grandma’s classic ham and bean soup… something I’ve loved since I was little! There’s something about the smoky bacon, tender ham, and savory broth that brings back memories of her kitchen, full of warmth and love. Funny enough, I’ve been craving it in the middle of this hot summer (it’s been rainy here), but , when in doubt, follow your heart when it comes to food. Comfort doesn’t care about the season.
Closing Thoughts
May this July be a time of quiet growth, radiant joy, and gentle surrender to the heart of Christ. Whether you're soaking up the sun or finding rest in the shade, I hope you feel God's nearness in all things…especially the small and ordinary!
Jesus, Light of the world, draw us closer to You in this summer season. Let the warmth of the sun remind us of Your steadfast love, and the long days slow us down to notice Your presence. In our rest and in our work, be our peace. In joy or sorrow, be our anchor. May our hearts be as open as the sky, and our lives reflect the glory of Your grace.
Amen.
In Christ,
Lily
